Goldman Sachs general counsel Kathryn Ruemmler received total compensation of $17.1 million in 2022, according to the company’s proxy statement filed Friday, a 35% increase from a year earlier.

The jump occurred despite Goldman Sachs’ having a bumpy 2022. with growing economic weakness across the globe contributing to a 47% drop in profit, to $11.3 billion.
