Tia Sherringham will officially head DoorDash’s legal team starting Jan. 1, when chief business and legal officer Keith Yandell takes a step back from his legal role to focus on the San Francisco-based food delivery platform’s business matters.

Sherringham, whom Yandell recruited as DoorDash’s second legal hire in 2017, will be general counsel and corporate secretary. She will report directly to CEO Tony Xu, and will continue to oversee the company’s legal team—a responsibility the attorney took on this past year, she said in an interview Wednesday.
