Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed Frankfurt-based corporate partner Markus Paul as co-head of the firm’s global financial investors (GFI) sector group as Ludwig Leyendecker’s term comes to an end. Paul will lead the global group alongside current GFI co-head David Higgins in London and will take up the role with immediate effect. Leyendecker will return to full-time practice. He currently heads the firm’s worldwide private equity group and is based in Cologne.
