Latham & Watkins global chair and managing partner Robert Dell is to retire at the end of 2014, after two decades heading the firm.

Since taking over as chair and managing partner of Latham in 1995, Dell (pictured) has overseen an increase in annual revenue from $262m to $2.2bn and a near quadrupling of the firm’s lawyer headcount to 2,100, despite not merging in the period.
