Sir Hector Sants, Barclays’ head of compliance and former chief of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), has resigned from the bank following a brief period of leave.
Sants, who joined Barclays at the beginning of the year but has been on sick leave since October with stress and exhaustion, has decided he will not be able to return to work in the near future.
