Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Overy (A&O) and CMS Cameron McKenna have all played major roles on a £696m nuclear deal that has seen Japan’s Hitachi acquire E.ON and RWE’s UK joint venture, Horizon Nuclear Power.

The agreement has seen Hitachi take over the development of Horizon’s plans for new nuclear power plants in the UK, which are expected to create as many as 12,000 jobs.
