Latham & Watkins and Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) have picked up lead advisory roles as Swedish paper and hygiene products maker SCA announced plans to buy Georgia-Pacific’s European tissue business for $1.8bn (£1.14bn), writes The Am Law Daily.

RPC is advising SCA on the transaction, with a team led by M&A partners James Mee and David Wallis. SCA, where Anders Nyberg holds the general counsel role, views the acquisition as a way of bolstering its personal care offerings and expanding its reach in Europe.
