The judges were impressed by Al Tamimi’s drive to become a genuine regional heavyweight with a network of offices that spans Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Established in 1989, it is the largest law firm in the Middle East region employing more than 360 staff.

The firm’s project to act as a legal gateway for the region began in earnest in 2007 when it created an international division with its own structure and staff. Its mission is three-fold: to identify locations were the firm needs a presence in order to fulfil its goal; to investigate the possibility of merging with or acquiring local practices; and to knit together the firm’s existing network of offices so that it can genuinely offer a Middle East service for its local and international clients.
