Eversheds and Pinsent Masons have won key roles on a 20-year £640m waste management and recycling project.

Eversheds advised Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority (MWDA) in partnership with Halton Borough Council on its contract with French utility giant Veolia Environmental Services, which will see the group develop a flagship materials recovery facility at Gilmoss in Liverpool and refurbish 16 household waste recycling centres. Under the deal, Veolia will also take over operation of four existing transfer stations servicing waste collection authorities.
