“I am due to qualify as a solicitor at the end of October 2009, and I was thinking about going travelling for a few months from November. However, I was wondering if this could jeopardise my chances of getting a newly-qualified job.

“I am currently at a regional firm and, given the state of the job market at the moment, there is no guarantee that they will keep me on. Would it be more sensible to stay put for now?”
