Linklaters is to lose Asia managing partner Giles White, with the long-serving finance partner set to leave the firm at the end of April to take up a role with a client. White will join Hong Kong conglomerate Jardine Matheson as its group general counsel, replacing Jonathan Gould when he retires on 30 June. White (pictured) has been at Linklaters for 21 years and was appointed as Asia managing partner in October 2006, replacing firmwide managing partner Simon Davies in the position. He had previously served as head of finance and stood unsuccessfully for Linklaters' senior partner position earlier that year - eventually losing out to David Cheyne.
