White & Case is to lose its Istanbul managing partner with Aydin Duren set to quit at the end of this month to join Turkey's Garanti Bank as head of legal. Duren, who is also one of two name partners in White & Case's Turkish association law firm Duren Akol, additionally heads the Istanbul capital markets group.Duren will be replaced as office managing partner by the other name partner in the firm, Meltem Akol, who also heads the Istanbul M&A group. Securities partner Laura Sizemore, who splits her time between New York and Turkey, will oversee the local capital markets team.
