Cuatrecasas has outperformed its leading Spanish rivals to report an increase in revenues of nearly 20% for the third year running. The 18.6% growth in turnover at Spain’s second-largest law firm took revenues to €224.76m (£172m), up from €189.53m (£145m) for 2006.

The firm’s performance came as Spanish firms enjoyed a strong year in 2007, with turnover across the nation’s three biggest independent firms growing by 17% on average. Cuatrecasas advised on eight of the 10 largest Iberian deals in 2007, including Spain’s largest transaction – the €40.7bn (£31.1m) acquisition of Endesa by Enel and Acciona.
