Just as unruly are those squabbling barristers in Australia, leaving no galah unflamed in the debate over whether or not to ditch the historic use of wigs in court.

While judges in New South Wales are no longer required to wear wigs in civil trials and many barristers have also given up the headpiece, judges in Victoria have apparently ignored instructions from judicial chief Michael Rozenes to go bareheaded for civil trials in a bid to keep the cherished tradition alive.
