Some may suggest the new-look regulatory arm of the Bar Council set out as if it had something to prove – as demonstrated by the sheer volume of information sent out by the Bar Standards Board (BSB), which recently celebrated its first birthday.

Never less than thorough, the body’s ever-eager press-bunnies last week informed the world that the BSB would not be pushing ahead with plans to defer calling baby barristers until the completion of their 12-month dinner date… sorry, rigorous training programme.
