It’s not often The Diary gets to drop by on those crazy cats at the European High Yield Association (EHYA). And now is not one of those occasions. However, it was rather fun to hear one finance lawyer respond to a mole’s questioning on a recent EHYA letter to the Treasury with a ‘dog ate my homework’ excuse for not having read it.

“I know I should have read it,” he said, feet shuffling awkwardly below him. “I had it in my briefcase on a long-haul flight, but I found it too boring to read and I read OK! magazine instead. I think I’ve filed it in my bin now.”
