US giant White & Case has launched an intellectual property (IP) practice in Paris with the hire of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer associate Bertrand Laird. Laird, who had been with the magic circle firm since 2002, joins the firm as counsel and will work along-side the three lawyers in the office's corporate practice who cover IP work.
