Vinson & Elkins has taken another step towards putting its Enron nightmare behind it after the Texas law firm was dismissed from a multibillion-dollar securities class action.Last week (24 January), the judge presiding over Mark Newby et al v Enron et al granted a request from the lead plaintiff, the University of California Board of Regents, to dismiss a number of defendants, including Vinson, from the suit.
