The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) is set to absorb several key responsibilities as part of a proposed shake-up of the Home Office. Under proposals announced this week by Home Secretary John Reid, the DCA would be remodelled as an expanded Justice Department, covering areas including prisons and the probation service, sentencing policy and criminal law.
