Alliance & Leicester (A&L) has made all its legal advisers sign standard fee arrangements and tougher terms and conditions, but has left its panel line-up unchanged.

The FTSE 100 bank started an adviser review last autumn, when the former building society asked panel firms to send in proposals on costs. The company has now negotiated new fee arrangements with the majority of its advisers. Firms A&L instructs include Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Overy, Norton Rose, Eversheds and Taylor Wessing.
