Bank Austria sale seals Freshfields deal double

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has continued its strong run of cross-border deals after advising on two multibillion-euro deals in the last week, as the boom in continental M&A continues apace.

The City giant is advising UniCredito on its €12.5bn (£8.4bn) acquisition of a 77.5% stake in Bank Austria Creditanstalt from HypoVereinsbank.
