Nottingham Law School (NLS) is hunting for its third dean in the space of three years after the resignation of Michael Gunn. Gunn leaves next month to join the University of Derby as pro vice chancellor for learning, teaching and scholarship. He has been at NLS for nine years, becoming dean in late 2004. Deputy dean Gabby Costello will fill in as acting dean while a replacement is found.

It is understood NLS wants someone with a professional rather than purely academic background. News of Gunn’s departure comes three months after the school announced that it is to open its first college in London after teaming up with US education provider Kaplan.
