There is nothing new about law firms quibbling over semantics in a bid to navigate around certain inconvenient facts – a lead which it seems the venerable Law Society is only too happy to follow.

The Law Society recently confirmed that an impressively specific “1.8 posts in the International Human Rights Department have been made redundant” – also confirming that a further 1.8 posts would “remain vacant” while the services offered by the department undergo a “redesign”.
