Trowers & Hamlins has appointed Majid Al Toky as managing partner of its Oman office, marking the first time a local lawyer has headed up one of its Middle East offices.

Al Toky, who specialises in projects, oil and gas and telecoms, replaces Sean Angle who left Trowers late last month to work with another firm in Dubai. Al Toky will lead a team of three partners and 17 lawyers at the Oman site, which was opened in 1980 and is the firm’s largest office in the Gulf.
