Debevoise & Plimpton has hired associate director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC's) division of enforcement, Paul Berger as partner in its Washington DC office. Berger, who will join the litigation group in June, oversaw commission investigations and enforcement proceedings. Berger, who was previously a partner at Arnold & Porter, joined the SEC in 1992, rising to assistant director in 1996 and associate director in 2000.
