Spanish M&A leader sends lawyer pay soaring

Slaughter and May’s Spanish ally Uria Menendez has boosted assistants’ salaries, with the Madrid leader this week announcing that pay rates will rise by as much as 32%.

The increase will come in two parts, with an initial 10% rise on 1 May for all associates and non-legal staff and then additional end-of-year raises in September or January.
