The City of London Law Society (CLLS) has agreed to restructure itself and set up a ruling ‘council’ as the body moves to take on a full representative role for the City.

The proposals were approved at a CLLS meeting last week when it agreed to split from its affiliated livery company, the City of London Solicitors’ Company. CLLS members are also currently members of the livery company, which serves the Corporation of London and the Lord Mayor. The two bodies will now legally separate.
