Four heavyweight candidates have emerged in the battle to succeed Janet Gaymer as Simmons & Simmons’ next senior partner, including the firm’s former managing partner David Dickinson.

The top 10 City firm has short-listed Dickinson, Italy managing partner Richard Slater, senior litigator Philip Vaughan and Rotterdam partner Ralph Kroener as candidates to spearhead the firm when Gaymer steps down this summer. The four runners are set to make a presentation to the partners at a partner-ship weekend next month, after which the voting will open.
