Laytons has transferred its Bristol arm to southwest practice Thring Townsend as the regional firm continues to consolidate its business. The remaining nine lawyers at the Bristol office, who include three partners, will now trade under the Bath-based firm’s name while Laytons refocuses its practice at its remaining branches in Guildford, London and Manchester.

Laytons has seen a string of senior departures at its Bristol office in recent months, including former office head Louise Brown and local construction head Barrie Hobbs, who both left to join regional rival Clarke Willmott.
