The long-predicted UK arrival of class action litigation last week suffered a major setback as the High Court threw out the ground-breaking group claim from Rail-track shareholders against the Government.
The UK’s largest-ever group claim ended when Mr Justice Lindsay on Friday (14 October) rejected the high-profile misfeasance claim against the Government for failing to avert Railtrack’s insolvency.
