Jones Day has secured a marquee European deal after being instructed by France Telecom on its E6.4bn (£4.4bn) purchase of Spanish mobile phone operator Amena.
The deal sees France Telecom buy 80% of the Barcelona-based Amena stock for EUR6.4bn in cash from holding company Grupo Auna, which is made up of main shareholders Banco Santander Central Hispano, Endesa and Union Fenosa.
