To put Dundas & Wilson’s outsourcing experience in context, we have to revisit the circumstances which led it down that path in the first place. Dundas joined the Andersen Legal Network in 1997 and remained part of that network until May 2002, when Andersen began to fall apart.

Dundas took a massive leap forward in its technological capability when it first joined Andersen. It suddenly found itself with technology on a par with the top City firms. Notwithstanding very significant investment in IT systems by Andersen, Dundas lost ground in the years that followed. This was largely because, during a period when the legal IT market developed considerably, within Andersen precedence was given to those tools that the accountancy practice required.
