Outsourcing remains buoyant in the UK, with corporate counsel painting a picture of growing sophistication in the way they do business with outsourcing suppliers. The latest Legal Director Benchmarker, conducted in association with Wragge & Co, shows businesses are entering into longer contracts with suppliers: the average length of contract has risen from two years in last year’s outsourcing poll, to between two and five years this year.

Businesses are also preparing to step up their rate of outsourcing, as for the third consecutive year large numbers of respondents to the Benchmarker survey said they were planning to outsource in the next 12 months – 42% of the corporate counsel polled said they planned to do so this year.
