This week we are all being asked to join the MPF movement. It sounds like a cross between a political party and a well-known furniture store.

In fact it is the Managing Partners Forum’s unsung heroes campaign which is being kicked off in today’s issue of Legal Week ( see pages 15-17). The MPF’s aim is to encourage firms to give more recognition to those members of their staff who do not physically bring in the fees. To underpin its campaign, the MPF has come up with some interesting research, which puts the total number of support staff working in the UK’s top 100 firms at 32,564, compared to the 37,022 lawyers actually bringing in fees.
