The Law Society’s decisionmaking council spent much of last Wednesday and Thursday getting their heads around the complex conflict of interests rules – and being sent back to Law School at the same time.
Headmaster Andrew Holroyd, from the standards board, clarified the issue by telling all that if any of them were asked to act for Joanna against Joe but had, in the course of previously acting for Joe learned that he was a nasty character, then Joanna would have to be dropped as a client.
