Duo drink to £654m property deal

davis: led for sj berwin Linklaters and SJ Berwin have secured lucrative instructions on a £654m property deal that sees Laurel – the former pub arm of leisure giant Whitbread – sell 432 pubs to UK brewer Greene King.

SJ Berwin advised Laurel and majority shareholder MidOcean Partners, the New York-based private equity firm which holds an 85% stake in Laurel. Linklaters advised long-standing client Greene King.
