Ashurst has landed a major PFI project, advising preferred bidder RMPA Services in relation to its debt-financed £775m bid to run Colchester Garrison for the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The deal saw energy transport and infrastructure (ETI) partner Mark Elsey lead the Ashurst team advising the bidding consortium — which included HSBC, Sir Robert McAlpine, WS Atkins and Sodexho Defence Services – that will upgrade and run the garrison for the next 35 years.
