Law Soc calls in firms to help reduce complaints overload

The Law Society has begun outsourcing some of its complaints handling to independent law firms as part of a drive to reduce its backlog of files.

The venture has seen the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors (OSS) already take on Hammonds in Birmingham, Nelson & Co in Leeds and Weightman Vizards in Liverpool for a test period. Each firm has been given 75 claims to close.
