The resignations last week of two senior Denton Wilde Sapte competition partners, including department head Polly Weitzman, are likely to herald a flurry of competition partner moves as the top US firms close in on the handful of top names dominating the UK market.
Dentons partners complain of being besieged by headhunters in the months preceding the departures that saw top performer Weitzman become director of competition at Ofcom and rising star Suyong Kim join the London office of leading US anti-trust firm Wilmer Cutler & Pickering. The losses come just two years after former department head David Aitman jumped ship for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
