Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is to next week select a German partner to lead the firm alongside co-senior partner Anthony Salz with three serious candidates emerging as Legal Week went to press.
The leading candidates are believed to be Axel Epe, Ralph Wollburg and Konstantin Mettenheimer. The three lawyers are expected to make presentations to Freshfields’ partnership committee next week, which will then put forward a single partner to replace the retiring Christian Wilde when his term ends in 2004.
