Milbank TweedThe City office of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy has won a new client after being approached by private equity house Apax Partners to advise on its £900m joint bid with Permira to buy UK satellite operator International Mobile Satellite (Inmarsat).

Milbank Tweed is believed to have been favoured over Apax’s habitual adviser Weil Gotshal & Manges to act for the private equity house for the first time in London because of its expertise in the satellite sector.
