Ahold: Peter Wakkie a partner at Dutch firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is joining troubled client Ahold as chief corporate governance counsel. Wakkie, a former De Brauw managing partner and one of The Netherlands’ most prominent corporate lawyers, is to join the Dutch retail group on 15 October. He will sit on the company’s corporate executive board.
Co-operative Financial Services:
CFS has appointed in-house lawyer Peter Kerns as its new head of legal following the departure of Ann Page to set up her own consultancy business. Kerns assumed the role in July when Page left after 13 years at the bank. He had previously been head of legal at Co-operative Insurance Services which merged with Co-operative Bank in April last year to form CFS.
