Dewey Ballantine’s former Hong Kong head, whose office’s closure was infamously lampooned at a firm party, has quit the firm to join the Hong Kong arm of Latham & Watkins.

The move sees former Hong Kong head John Otoshi join Lathams along with fellow partner David Zhang and one associate, following the closure of Deweys’ Hong Kong branch in March. Although several lawyers were made redundant, it is understood Otoshi had been asked to return to Deweys’ New York base.
