Monti calls lawyers to restrictive rules summit

The European Commission (EC) is to invite senior lawyers and ministers to a summit in order to thrash out plans to deregulate the European legal market.

The high profile meeting in Brussels on 28 October is being hosted by Mario Monti, the EC’s Competition Commissioner, as part of his drive to abolish restrictive practices within the legal and other ‘liberal’ professions.
