Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Zurich Financial Services Group (ZFS) on its £340m disposal of Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings, bringing to a close its £3bn fundraising programme.

Slaughter and May advised the acquirer, American Express Financial Corporation, the first major piece of corporate work on which the firm has advised the established client, previously having advised it on regulatory issues only. The Slaughters team was led by corporate partner Paul Olney, supported by senior associate Andrew Barton and corporate associate James Edmunds.
