New York’s Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has made a rare partner-level hire with the appointment of Wilmer Cutler & Pickering litigator Lewis Liman. Liman, whose practice focuses on securities litigation and white-collar crime, is expected to start at Clearys in July. Liman has handled a number of high profile cases at the Washington DC-based firm, including defending Citigroup against claims that the bank compromised analyst independence to win business.
