OFT launches probe into conditional fee legal costs

OFT The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is to launch a review of the legal costs racked up during ‘no win no fee’ cases – in a move that raises further questions about the state of the conditional fee market.

The review will focus on the competitiveness of the after-the-event (ATE) insurance market and the price of ATE policies, which underpin no win no fee cases.
