Law Society protects itself from discrimination claims

The Law Society has bought in extra professional indemnity cover to safeguard its council members and employees from being personally sued for their actions while working for the society.

The new cover, which costs an extra £20,000 per year, will give added protection to all council members and employees. It will completely cover sexual and racial discrimination claims for the first time.
