In-house lawyers at leading UK businesses are facing increased workloads even though business conditions have deteriorated, the latest Legal Director Benchmarker has found.

Of the 100 senior lawyers interviewed for the survey, which was conducted in association with Pinsents, more than half (57%) reported that the amount of work handled by their in-house department had increased in the past year. Only one in 10 (10%) said their workload had decreased, while nearly one-third (30%) said it had remained the same.
