The London office of US firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft has closed a £45m African financing deal – the only project financing transaction to complete in Mozambique during the past 15 months.

Cadwaladers’ London head of projects Paul Biggs led the team to advise The Maputo Port Development and a consortium of investors including the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, international construction company Skanska and Portuguese port operator Liscont Operadores de Contentores. Biggs took the client to Cadwaladers when he moved there a year ago from CMS Cameron McKenna.
